On October 18th, the Chicago STEM Pathways Cooperative (STEM Co-op) convened virtually.

The Co-op was pleased to welcome Kristin Lewis-Warner of Harvard’s PEAR Institute for a presentation on the STEM services they offer to organizations and providers across the country. These services include Dimensions of Success (DoS), a critical tool for observing and assessing program quality, and the Common Instrument Suite (CIS), a suite of surveys that help capture both student and educator perspectives.

The Co-op then heard from two of PEAR’s local partners within Chicago, ACT Now & Project Exploration. Both organizations shared their experiences with using PEAR’s tools and how the tools have helped further their work. Attendees then transitioned into breakout groups to discuss these and other evaluation tools, their uses across sectors, and best practices for using them.
