On July 19th, the Chicago STEM Pathways Cooperative (STEM Co-op) convened virtually.

The Co-Op was pleased to welcome Kelly Greene, Chief Operating Office of SciTech Institute, to introduce Chief Science Officers (CSO’s), an international initiative that is coming to Chicago!!! CSO’s are 6-12th grade students who are elected by their peers to act as liaisons for STEM and innovation in their schools and community. In order to help bring CSO’s to Illinois, please make use of the Student Recruitment FlyerAdvisor Recruitment Flyer, & Nomination Form. Completed nominations must be sent to Co-op Director Sarah Tinsman at [email protected]projectexploration.org by September 16th.

Organizations represented included ACT Now, Argonne National Laboratory, Chicago Learning Exchange, Chicago Public Schools, Chicago Student Invention ConventionCity Colleges of Chicago, CSO International, The Field Museum, IEEE, Illinois Science Council, Shedd Aquarium, Simply Destinee, & Tutor/Mentor Institute.

To add your organization to the Co-op website, please complete our Member Profile Survey. To aid in the shaping of the Co-op Leadership Council, please complete our Leadership Council Priorities Survey.
Next month’s meeting will be held on August 16th from 8:30 to 11:00 A.M.  The folks at Argonne have generously offered to help host the meeting at 5235 S Harper Ct in Hyde Park. Attendees will also have the option to attend virtually. Please register ahead of time so that we can give the venue a proper head count!
